Brighton vs Liverpool
The Premier League is back in full swing this weekend as league leaders Liverpool travel to Brighton.
Liverpool are just four points ahead of Man City following the Reds’ recent loss at the Etihad.
Brighton are 13th in the division, 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
Liverpool’s losing streak
Liverpool will come into the Brighton game on the back of two successive defeats.
Following Man City, Wolves knocked the Reds out of the FA Cup in the third round.
Mohamed Salah was left on the Liverpool bench for the Wolves match.
As Jurgen Klopp’s side chased the game, Salah was introduced in the second half.
After Wolves, Klopp revealed that several players have been suffering with sore throats:
After the City game we immediately had a few players who were ill, showed sore throat and all that stuff you can have in this period of the year. A few of them were not even in after the City game.
Fears over Mohamed Salah
With Salah possibly not 100% health wise, the Liverpool star has flown to Dakar, Senegal.
That’s because the 2018 CAF Awards gala will be staged there on Tuesday night.
The main award is the African player of the year, where Salah has been nominated alongside Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
But Salah will then continue his travels, as he’s set to attend the Mohammed Bin Rashid Creative Sports Award in the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday.
Salah has been crowned the winner of the ‘Outstanding Arab Athlete’ award.
That means Salah will only likely return to Liverpool on Thursday, 48 hours before the away match at Brighton.
Is there a chance Salah doesn’t start for Liverpool against the Seagulls?
Mo Salah is set to attend CAF awards in Senegal tonight.
Followed by another flight to UAE to receive another award on Wednesday + Klopp admitted post match conference that Mo has sort of throat problem. I am worried of captaining him after all this hassle #FPL #FantasyPL #GW22
